Q&A
How long have you been in healthcare? Cardiology?
I started in healthcare as an ECG tech in Portland in 2003. When I moved to Idaho in 2006, I was a medical assistant in cardiology for Dr Hinchman and Dana Peachey, NP, while attending nursing school. I became an electrophysiology nurse in 2009, when I worked with Dr Noonan, and went on to graduate from Nurse Practitioner school in 2013. I have been practicing electrophysiology since.
What do you like most about practicing in an independent clinic?
I love the ability to focus on prevention. It is a pleasure to sit down with patients and come up with a strategic and collaborative preventative plan of care based on conversation, labs and state of the art imaging.
Where are you from? How long have you lived in Boise?
I was born and raised in California. I met my husband in Portland, Oregon and we moved to Idaho in 2006.
What do you love about living and working in the Treasure Valley?Idaho is a wonderful place to raise a family. My kids have had so many opportunities, from great church programs, to sports, to outdoor activities.
Where might we find you on the weekends?
On the weekends you will find me with my family, either attending sporting events like BMX racing, motorcross racing or swim meets. I also love a good garage sale or thrift store.
What else are you involved in?
My husband and I are involved in our church, Valley Life Community Church, working with youth. I am also the secretary of the Board at Nampa Swim Team, where my daughter swims competitively.
