At High Desert Heart & Vascular, we are proud to be an independent cardiology practice located in the Treasure Valley of Idaho. Our commitment has always been to put patients first—offering accessible, affordable, and highly personalized cardiovascular care.
We are excited to share that our practice is growing! To better serve our patients across the Treasure Valley and beyond, we’ve welcomed two exceptional advanced practice providers (APPs) to our team: Liz Thurmond, NP, and Julia Norton, PA-C.
A Warm Welcome to Liz and Julia
Liz Thurmond, NP, brings with her years of experience in cardiology and a deep connection to the Idaho community. Known for her compassionate and thoughtful approach, Liz is certified as an Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and has been working in cardiology since moving to Idaho in 2013. Her focus on building strong relationships—with patients and colleagues alike—makes her an outstanding addition to our care team.
Julia Norton, PA-C, is our first physician assistant at High Desert Heart & Vascular. She completed a cardiology fellowship and has worked in both general cardiology and advanced heart failure. Julia brings expertise, energy, and a team-first attitude to our practice. Patients appreciate her approachable style, and we value the new skills and perspectives she brings.
Our APPs: More Than Providers—Partners in Your Health
Our team of nurse practitioners and physician assistants are highly skilled clinicians who work alongside our four cardiologists to deliver excellent cardiovascular care. Each of our APPs offers unique experience, specialization, and a deep passion for helping patients live healthier lives.
Whether it’s managing heart failure, performing electrophysiology work-ups, or developing preventative heart health plans, our APPs are integral to how we deliver high-quality cardiovascular care with compassion and efficiency. They work closely with patients ensuring continuity, clarity, and a human connection.

Sara O’Connor, FNP-C – Specializing in electrophysiology with nearly two decades of experience in cardiology.
Dana Peachey, NP – A long-time Treasure Valley resident with a deep understanding of community needs and patient advocacy.
Adrianne Paeth, NP – Experienced in both EP and general cardiology, known for her collaborative approach and timely care.
Jennifer Woodburn, DNP – Brings advanced training and a passion for heart failure management from her years at Mayo Clinic.
Liz Thurmond, NP – A respected voice in Idaho cardiology who excels at acute care and patient relationships.
Julia Norton, PA-C – A dynamic and driven provider with a background in advanced heart failure and pulmonary hypertension.
